A Physical Therapy Aide (PTA) is an important member of the healthcare delivery system. Working as a subordinate to a physical therapist, the PTA has an active involvement in the rehabilitation process of a patient. This involves an overall improvement of a patient’s functional capacity in cases where patients have been left with an impaired motion of arms or legs or an impairment of balance and coordination.
Working towards the rehabilitation of patients calls for a great deal of patience on the part of the aide. At the same time, it also requires a range of skill-sets that help the physical therapy aides perform their tasks with expertise and finesse. The patient should feel at ease working with the aide and face the least possible discomfort in the process.
The lessons in this VR training program are set in photorealistic virtual environments and present learners with step-by-step directions. Performing each task helps learners learn and polish their skills to the desired level of perfection.
