Mass Shooting Triage
There has been a mass shooting at a mall. It is a crowded area and there could be multiple casualties. As part of the paramedic team, it is imperative to conduct a triage. Swift and efficient tagging and sorting will ensure due attention is paid to those in need of emergency care. Once tagged, initial life saving measures must be administered until transported to a hospital for treatment.  Â
This multiplayer open scenario is designed to expose learners to an emergency like mass shooting incidents and be prepared to handle and manage such situation with confidence.

Mass Shooting Triage
As part of the triage process, users are required to identify and sort people with minor injuries, serious injuries, and the deceased. While a team member is assigning tags, the other team members will initiate initial treatment measures like applying tourniquets, performing needle decompression and applying HyFin to stop bleeding. Users are placed in a photorealistic location replicating a mass shooting incident in a mall. Learners are provided all necessary affordances to complete the triage process. This helps them get accustomed to disaster situations and gain confidence to face real life challenges.
