About The Course:

This simulation is designed to equip healthcare providers with essential communication skills for engaging sensitively with family members of patients diagnosed with terminal illness.

Through this simulated scenario and interactive exercises, participants will learn to navigate delicate conversations, deliver empathetic support, and facilitate effective communication during end-of-life care planning. Employing end-to-end AI and technologies like large language model (LLM) and deep learning gives these virtual ‘clients’ the ability to respond like real humans.

The MedVR Ed XR Platform provides trainers and instructors the facility to review conversation logs and analyze learner performance based on customized rubrics. Based on the performance review, trainers will be able to provide precise and effective feedback.

Learning Objectives:
  • Develop empathetic communication skills to understand and respond to kin’s concerns
  • Learn strategies to effectively communicate diagnosis updates, treatment options, and prognosis with sensitivity and clarity.
  • Engage in discussions about advanced care planning, palliative care, and hospice options
  • Recognize and respect patient’s cultural background and preferences, ensuring communication aligns with her beliefs and values
  • Receive constructive feedback to enhance communication skills and improve patient and family interactions
